Where has the year gone? As you can see, I finally got some pictures of Robely's horror Christmas village up and running.
Post BGG.con has been busy for me. Time spent vacationing with my pop in Oklahoma for Thanksgiving and the week afterwards.
Also, over Thanksgiving my grandmother took a turn for the worse and passed away this past week. Not an event I want to discuss in this forum or at this juncture. But I did manage a trip out to North Carolina to see here before the end.
Between those events and the warm weather it was hard to believe it was nearing Christmas. But now that I have had time to finish my gift shopping and get back to my normal routine, the holiday is nearly upon us. Well that and the near freezing tempatures have finally arrived. No snow or ice yet, but our Northern destinations have been hit hard, thus maybe delaying our Christmas.
Luckily, my understanding Robely has been here to help me through it all and tonight she actually went out and gamed with me. Baker, Penguino met us over at Tommy's along with some friends of Tommy's wife. We got in three games and Robely won two and seemed have a good time.
So far the holiday season has been good to me. I got two games from my BGG secret Santa (Blue Moon City and the Twilight Imperium expansion) and also got Settlers of the Stone Age from our Dallasgames exchange. I am one of those that really likes to give gifts at Christmas though (much to Robely's dismay) and look forward to the big family bash next weekend.
